Lead Clinical Data Abstraction & Registries

Team Lead position for the Bone Marrow and Solid Organ Transplant Abstraction Teams.

Responsible for providing daily work direction to staff to achieve department and organizational objectives. Team lead has a high level of technical expertise and displays role model competency in behaviors, knowledge, communication ability and creating exceptional customer experiences while acting as the primary peer resource. In addition the team lead promotes, supports and participates in process improvement, quality initiatives, and innovation. The team lead is responsible for supporting abstraction and registry work and functions.

• Abstraction of clinical data.
• Assist with scheduling of employees and coordination of daily work flow and providing clarification of expectations based on leadership guidance.
• Participates in the interview process for new employees; provides education, training, onboarding and mentoring of new and existing employees.
• Completes data collection per system, audits and validation checks once the data is entered.
• Maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards; complies with and applies regulatory and registry abstraction guidelines utilizing clinical knowledge for accurate and timely data abstraction.
• Leverages data abstraction and registries to drive quality improvement efforts and reduce variation.
• Collaborates with leadership and stakeholders across the system to transform data and information into knowledge that will assist leaders in making informed decisions that support strategic initiatives.
• Works with stakeholders and staff to improve documentation issues/discrepancies and provide feedback on documentation.
• Provides data, information and education regarding opportunities for improvement and compliance with regards to clinical practice and processes across the system.
• Responsible for identifying areas for streamlining and process improvement in the data collection process.
