The Emergency Department at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital has 19 ED beds, three behavioralhealth rooms and five fast-track rooms. The Emergency Department handles acute andsubacute issues. We are a Level III trauma center. Aspart of an active community, St. Mary-Corwin is located near Pueblos main tourist areawith many outdoor activities. We see everything from major traumas, STEMIs, and strokesto minor cases of viral illness and well-child checks. We are proficient in EMTALA laws withour stabilization and transfer experience of acutely emergent patients. Being a criticalaccess hospital, our case mix is broad. We see patients including neonates and geriatricsand even treat an inmate population.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team,and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes theoptimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient carestandards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care,organizational mission, and core values.
What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
RN License required;Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required;Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
BLS from the American Heart Association required
ACLS required upon hire or within 6 months
TNCC required upon hire or within 6 months
PALS required upon hire or within 6 months
NIHSS required upon hire or within 6 months
One year RN experience required
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to Emergency nursing
Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
